Frankly, by the time he was in his mid 30s, Chiru was a superstar with many hits. This gen does not have that chance at all.
I think those under 30 can be considered for any competition, but Pawan and Mahesh are in their own league.

Mahesh is a sure winner. I think the longevity is determined not only by age but also by the variety of films they choose . All the 11 or 12 movies done by Mahesh shows and proves his versatality. Each movie shows him in different shade and Yes "Okkadu" was a la "Khaidi" for him and turned the tables. "Pokiri" gave him the Mega Power.This guy loves the cinema and is a born performer. I will not be surprised If chiru announces the same one of these days.
The only drawback is we do not have directors of caliber of KRR. Kodandaramireddy.... to make sure winners everytime mixing entertainment ,mass,class in right proportions. The current lot of directors do not have longetivity. We hope they emerge.

mahesh is having very good qualities. But to say who will rule the industry?? Coming three years will decide this. undisputedly Mahesh is very talented.Jr.NTR is also talented But at present at the age of twenties he is 130 kgs.So if he wont take care he will become like prabhu(tamil actor)And already NTR glamour is strted to fade off. But every one must admit that he the reresentative for NTR family in this generation. As for as pawan kalyan is concerned he doesn't know acting, but a good dancer good fighter and in my openion he is talented off the screen. I'm a die hard fan of Chiru ever since i was 7 yrs old. But over the past few years, he'z churning out senseless movies. Since I'm a follower of Chiru, it's natural that I', of Pawan Kalyan too(but no allu arjun). Again this guy went nuts by going into direction, fight choreography and all the related stuff which is not required. So from my point of view the anybody from Chiru family is ruled out (If pawan keeps himself only to acting and that too good movies).
Now there are only two biggies. One is Mahesh Babu and the other is Prabhas. Ofcourse there is Jr.NTR too. But according to the present situation and if it still continues then I'm sure we'll see him only in a ffew movies.
Mahesh has set himself as an icon and well established hero. Like everybody else he worked hard for it and achieved it.
Prabhas has made it big with Varsham and Chatrapathi(the later i assume is a flop). He still needs to establish himself as an actor, which he will do eventually.
So after looking the above scenarios I FEEL that it would be Mahesh Babu (not because he had given 2 back to back hits, rather his potential if rightly used by the director)

i think mahesh babu doesnt do remakes. he only makes free makes. i am not particularly against mahesh babu. he is good and i wish him all the best for his career.
the free makes he has done. nani is inspired by "big" with TOM HANKS in lead. one of the common ragging question in my college is to list the number of movies shown in VAMSHI 1. dilwale dulhaniya le jaayenge(train scene) 2. Mission impossible (ending fight).
anyways, coming to the topic, as some one is saying, its not just enough if it is a particular hero's movie. the story has to be good. all departments have to act in tandem. then only, a movie will be hit.

PAWAN: after kushi,he lost his charm in his face due to weight loss for johnny.as now ,..After seeing bangaram ,it is evedent that he is not caring for wat people expect from him.He even doesn't know himself that he has lot of calibre.He has given class hits and trying to change his track.But i am not of sure he has mass appeal.for this he has to redefine his character himself...he has to come up with confidence in face. ALL THE BEST MAHESH: After series of flaw actings,he converged to class with mass appeal,...u see nowadays a lot of confidence in his face.He knows his calibre and care for wat people expect.Presently he is fruit-juice of telugu audience. PRABHAS: he is a mass star....he can be real heart throb of village people..already experienced he has lot many mass followers...he needs few breaks to prove NTR: he is king of masses.But setting such kind of stories always difficult....
note: nowadays ,even mahesh babu movie flops, we can see his face,and acting but not pawan kalyan..
mahesh will definitely be in one of first two positions....prabhas in one of first three...

HI, Pawan will come back and Mahesh is also having the killer instinct so i thnk there will be a healthy competetion between them for next 10 yrs but NTR will have to do lot of homework to get his kind of stories becoz. he is not a natural actor moreover he is emotional actor so he cant give a healthy competetion any way Pawan and Mahesh will rule but If there is a hit at a time for both then for sure market will be better than Mahesh to pawan its my opinion what do u say guys.

I will give the exact picture, based on performence, 1.PK:Except Comady, he can't justify other scenes,Dance also avg., ( I am big fan of Chiru)
2.Mahesh : He can perform all scenes, but not comedy with fast moments like pawan kalyan,but mahesh has lot of caliber than Pawan.
3 NTR: Dance is his asset.He can perform every scenes(including Comedy), but not that much charming as Mahesh.
4.Prabhas : He also perform well, until he got good breaks, we can't tell about his status,but he has caliber in all aspects.
So , After observing all things, Mahesh can gain the star image in Masses,Classes, Childerns,College Girls,... from all categories.
NTR not having Class following PK not having Family audience image
MAHESH can rule the Industry(If directors can get the performence at least 75% of his caliber)

upto after 3 & 4 years heavy compitation between pawan & mahesh. than after ram charan,nag chaitanya and others may be taken no 1 position in andhra. No chance to NTR. Becouse ntr age is 20years. but his thinking & his type movies are 20 years back thougts. Present his style & thoughts are not suitable for present films.

There is tie between Mahesh and Pavan Kalyan. Why in Tamil Rajanikant is super star..he is not a good actor like Kamal Hasan..not a good dancer like Chiranjeevi..
Only bcoz of his unique acting style..that made him a super star..
So to become a super star good acting,good dancing wonn't help.. Only unique ness makes a superstar.. i think the superstardom has come to an end with chiru and now everyone will have their own saleability with hits and flops like bollywood.
i feel ist better that all young generation heroes come out of their egos and act in multistarrer and atleast they can think like nagarjuna.
so we will have good and story oriented movies instead of unnecessary same old fight and run of the mill stuff.
i feel every actor needs to act together and fans also need to behave like that.
I feel chiranjeevi is the last super and mega star of telugu cinema. No more to come near to his status and stamina as he covered all kids of subjects whereas the present generation is acting in same kindof stuff. heroes r changing but the stories r one and the same.
atleast in tamilnadu we c heroes acting together. hope telugu heroes also follow this so that we too can get multistarrers like sivaputrudu etc.

mahesh, Pawan and prabhas all have their own set of talents and the three are good in their own kind of roles. From nowonwards everyone has to act in variety roles like aparichitudu and gajini and come of out of same old stupid heroism elevating stories. Even these so called heroes can act in a well etched character like the one done by allari naresh in gamyam which i can compare with characters in sholay(comedy touch of dharmendra and serious ending of amitabh)
y cant' our heroes experiment, atleast mahesh and pawan as they both have immense capability in them. I feel in each and every movie they look the same and nothing variety. When u look at tamil and malayalam stars they attempt very sensible and versatile roles to boost their talent which lacks in our young heroes.
Anyhow we have seen nothing special till date except bashing goons and dancing around the bushes. That way pawan has atleast attempted toliprema, badri, gokulam lo seetha and suswagatham kind of subjects. Mahesh also has immense talent but tilldate he never has acted ina comedy or versatile subjects(except nani). Leave Jr. NTR as he cant' act in variety roles as per his body language and he can only act in similar roles. so we cant' expect anything new and his action shows ego than talent (he compares himself with top star and thinks he is the one)
and gopichand is really a talent artist and we can c his grpah going lke the megastar chiru as he too started as a hero, became a villian proved himself and again came to mainstream as a hero and doing good and alos attempted a versatile subject like okkadunnaadu.
atleast prabhas even in the inital stage of his carreer attempted chakram(leave the fate of the movie) in which we can c his acting skills than stupid heroism.
So no more super and mega stars in telugu. I wish everyone to act together leaving their egos in godavari and maintain a cool and helathy environment and slowly the fans attitude too will change.
I wonder except in telugu all other languages fans really dont go on basis of caste and watch every good film and maintain healthy environment.
Long live telugu industry. We dont' want anymore superheroes and superstars. We want versatile acting actors(not stars) and wish them to exhibit their real talent and prove themselves if they feel they have those skills.

Earlier titles like superstar and megastar are given by magzines with a kind of voting. Now a days it is gone. Move over during the peak time chiru had 5-6 hits continuously. Even mohan babu had double hatrick during Alludugaaru time. These days having one movie in a year is great and its too difficult to make it success. Considering that Pawan/Mahesh can do may be another 15-20 movies and possibly 5-6 good hits over 10-15 years. Jr NTR has fair chances as he is too young and he is still at early 20s. But his action reflects ego and he is closely surrounded with cast minded people or so called Nadamuri fans. Some of the producers or directors keeping him away. This makes him to loose in getting mixed talent of the telugu industry.
but for sure there wont be any stars down the line, only movies with good story or screenplay or something new would succeed.

Mahesh is definitely the next no.1.Taking a one year break is not a mistake as even Chiranjeevi took a 1 year break(1996) after repeated failures to come back with Hitler.:D If his next 3 films click well,it'll take his star-status to huge level.At present,Mahesh's fanbase is mainly of youth and ladies and they are the ones who can decide the B.O. fate of any film. ;)

Frankly, by the time he was in his mid 30s, Chiru was a superstar with many hits. This gen does not have that chance at all.
I think those under 30 can be considered for any competition, but Pawan and Mahesh are in their own league.
I think the longevity is determined not only by age but also by the variety of films they choose .
All the 11 or 12 movies done by Mahesh shows and proves his versatality.
Each movie shows him in different shade and Yes "Okkadu" was a la "Khaidi" for him and turned the tables. "Pokiri" gave him the Mega Power.This guy loves the cinema and is a born performer.
I will not be surprised If chiru announces the same one of these days.
The only drawback is we do not have directors of caliber of KRR. Kodandaramireddy.... to make sure winners everytime mixing entertainment ,mass,class in right proportions.
The current lot of directors do not have longetivity. We hope they emerge.

So from my point of view the anybody from Chiru family is ruled out (If pawan keeps himself only to acting and that too good movies).
Now there are only two biggies. One is Mahesh Babu and the other is Prabhas.
Ofcourse there is Jr.NTR too. But according to the present situation and if it still continues then I'm sure we'll see him only in a ffew movies.
Mahesh has set himself as an icon and well established hero. Like everybody else he worked hard for it and achieved it.
Prabhas has made it big with Varsham and Chatrapathi(the later i assume is a flop). He still needs to establish himself as an actor, which he will do eventually.
So after looking the above scenarios I FEEL that it would be Mahesh Babu
(not because he had given 2 back to back hits, rather his potential if rightly used by the director)

2.Mahesh : He can perform all scenes, but not comedy with fast moments like pawan kalyan,but mahesh has lot of caliber than Pawan.
3 NTR: Dance is his asset.He can perform every scenes(including Comedy), but not that much charming as Mahesh.
4.Prabhas : He also perform well, until he got good breaks, we can't tell about his status,but he has caliber in all aspects.
So , After observing all things, Mahesh can gain the star image in Masses,Classes, Childerns,College Girls,... from all categories.

mahesh, Pawan and prabhas all have their own set of talents and the three are good in their own kind of roles. From nowonwards everyone has to act in variety roles like aparichitudu and gajini and come of out of same old stupid heroism elevating stories. Even these so called heroes can act in a well etched character like the one done by allari naresh in gamyam which i can compare with characters in sholay(comedy touch of dharmendra and serious ending of amitabh)
y cant' our heroes experiment, atleast mahesh and pawan as they both have immense capability in them. I feel in each and every movie they look the same and nothing variety. When u look at tamil and malayalam stars they attempt very sensible and versatile roles to boost their talent which lacks in our young heroes.
Anyhow we have seen nothing special till date except bashing goons and dancing around the bushes. That way pawan has atleast attempted toliprema, badri, gokulam lo seetha and suswagatham kind of subjects. Mahesh also has immense talent but tilldate he never has acted ina comedy or versatile subjects(except nani). Leave Jr. NTR as he cant' act in variety roles as per his body language and he can only act in similar roles. so we cant' expect anything new and his action shows ego than talent (he compares himself with top star and thinks he is the one)
and gopichand is really a talent artist and we can c his grpah going lke the megastar chiru as he too started as a hero, became a villian proved himself and again came to mainstream as a hero and doing good and alos attempted a versatile subject like okkadunnaadu.
atleast prabhas even in the inital stage of his carreer attempted chakram(leave the fate of the movie) in which we can c his acting skills than stupid heroism.
